Mangalore, May 10: The much awaited judgement in the sensational M D Jabbar murder case was out on Wednesday May 10 evening with three of the accused being given lifer by the district session court.
The hearing of the case had taken long three years owing to many reasons inlcuding some political pressure. However, now the verdict is out. Accordingly, Bend Santhu, Alwyn Pinto and Karna alias Karunakar have been sentenced for life.
However, the other accused have been acquitted and released by the court.
M D Jabbar who was the then taluk panchayat president was hacked to death on May 16, 2003. The prime accused Bend Santhu, Alwyn Pinto, Karna alias Karunakar, Polali Anantu, Prashanth Shaktinagar, Nitya alias Nityanand, Sunil Someshwar were later arrested by Pandeshwar police with the help of Anti-rowdy squad.
However, some of them were released on bail. Among them Polali Anantu was murdered in the last year near Polali Gate when he was going home after attending the court session.
