Jindal Stainless denies causing pollution

Bhubaneswar, Jan 11 (IANS): Jindal Stainless Ltd, a unit of $18 billion OP Jindal Group, Saturday denied any violation of pollution norms at its Odisha plant.

Referring to a published report that said the plant might face closure due to violations of pollution norms, the company said there was no such threat and it had clarified its views to the authorities.

"We have submitted our reply to the State Pollution Control Board's observation," a company spokesperson said in a statement to IANS.

The State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) team had reportedly voiced concerns over the violations of pollution norms at the one-million-tonne per annum steel plant at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district.
