Dubai, May 11: With the star artistes for Mangalore Konkans' event 'Me-Ga' already having arrived in Dubai, final touches to the event are being given by the organizers.

The event to take place at 6 pm on Friday, May 12 in Sheikh Rashid Auditorium has already created a sensation in UAE and the expectations are quite high.

Apart from Lorna from Goa, Rony D'Cunha, Claud D'Souza, and Reena D'Souza are already in town and the rehearsal is in full swing.

Dolla - Kulla

'Dolla - Kulla', the inimitable comedy pair from Mangalore who can keep the audience on their toes throughout, with their wiry actions and rib-tickling dialogues, are expected to bring the house down and the audience can be sure of having real entertainment from them on Friday.

Says an enthusiastic Mangalorean in Dubai, "We have a good number of comedy artistes in Dubai available locally, but making people laugh to glory by actions or dialogue is not an easy task. What makes Dolla and Kulla stand out is their ability  to take the audience to a different world of laughter with their very appearance."

"The Sheikh Rashid Auditorium of Indian High School with its sophisticated sound system is so impressive. The evening of Friday is undoubtedly going to be a good entertainment day for the Konkani art-lovers around," says another.

"Goans in Dubai too have been very supportive towards the show. Lorna's involvement in the show is a plus point and it is great to see top Mangalorean and Goan artistes on a single stage," says the programme co-ordinator.

Manohar Pais, a veteran compere, is once agin gearing up for this quality show to lead the event from the front. His recent performance in Kuwait has indeed given him a big boost and encouragement in preparation for this show.

Says Manohar, "We have tried to bring wide variety to the show, as everyone knows that Mangalore Konkans has a reputaion for putting class and quality in each of its shows. A few dances by livewire Vinod Sequeira and troupe are going to rock the auditorium as his team has tremendous talent in dances."
"Goan Comedian and singer Anceto will be accompanied by local Goan artistes. Robert Viegas as usual leads the music with his West Breeze team. Norman has come all the way from Goa to provide music for Lorna, so we are pretty confident that the show will be liked by a vast audience. Ticket sales have picked up in the past 3-4 days. We expect a gathering of 1300 to 1500 at the show although the capacity of the auditorium is much more than that," Says Valerian Peris.

President of Mangalore Konkans James Mendonca has urged music-lovers from both Goa and Mangalore to make use of this rare opportunity and enjoy the Friday evening in the company of leading Konkani artistes.

Gates at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium will open at 5.30 pm on Friday, May 12, 2006 and the Show will commence at 6.00 pm. The duration of the show will be three hours.

Tickets are available with Mangalore Konkans Members.
