Kundapur, May 12: The precious Anjaneya idol (statue of god Hanumantha) which was stolen from Karimanjeshwar Temple at Byndoor in June 2005 here has been found at Angadibail near Ankola in the Uttara Kannada district.  The police have also arrested 3 persons in this regard.

The total value of the idol is said to be Rs 4 lac.  The idol weighs 72.5 kilograms and is 3 feet tall in height. The police attacked the hide-out on sure tip off on Thursday May 11.  The idol was hidden in a field. 

The arrested have been identified as Krishna alias Sharat R Mogera, a resident of Shiroor, Ramchandra K Naik of Hosnagar in Shimoga district and Uday G Gunaga of Angadibail near Ankola.  However, three more persons connected with the theft have managed to escape.
