New Delhi, May 14: An Indian national abducted in Nigeria had been released, the government confirmed on Saturday.
Mammen, who was abducted by a militia group in Port Hartcourt, was released on Friday, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed said.

Working for Saipem, a subsidiary of the Italian ENI oil group, Mammen was abducted with two other foreign nationals.

Mammen had said he had not been mistreated by his abductors, Ahamed said, citing information provided by Indian high commissioner to Nigeria H H S Viswanathan.
