New York, Jan 20 (IANS): As the mercury drops down, your love life heats up, says a fascinating study.
Men want more sex during the winter, says a report that appeared on the Psychology of Human Sexuality, a popular scientific blog about sex and relationships by Dr Justin J. Lehmiller.
Researchers found that men were more aroused by revealing photos of women during the colder months than they were during the summer.
They asked 114 men to rate the attractiveness of several women, over the course of the year.
Every three months, men were asked to rate two sets of photos.
The first set showed only the women’s faces, whereas the second included images of their bodies in revealing dress, it said.
The researchers reported noticeably increased levels of arousal from December to February.
Men who were in relationships also reported a spike in attraction to their partners during the winter.
“The research gives us reason to suspect that the weather is not the only thing that changes with the seasons,” commented Lehmiller, who teaches in the department of psychology at Harvard University.
