Mangalore, May 15: A coconut trader died on the spot when a tempo turned turtle near B M A House in Paduperaru village here on Sunday.

At around 11.30 am, the tempo which lost control turned turtle. Narayan, the trader who was in the tempo succumbed to serious head injuries.

Narayan was a well know trader of the region and conducted trade at Suratkal market. He also supplied coconuts to surrounding villages including Soorinje, Katel, Mucchuru and Malali.

One among three persons who were behind the tempo was also injured in the accident.
