Delhi Metro agree to remove offending ad

New Delhi, Jan 20 (IANS): Delhi Metro Monday promised to remove an offending advertisement mounted on billboards showing a nude woman covered only by duct tape.

A Metro official told one of the journalists who had complained about the advertisement that they were ready to act against it.

"The advertisement will be removed from the Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate and whereever it is displayed," he said. "We agree it is vulgar."

The issue cropped up after four journalists Sunday lodged a protest with Delhi Metro at the Rajiv Chowk station.

Akansha Kumari, one of the four, told IANS: "What does this advertisement mean? That women are on sale?"
