Mumbai, Jan 22 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading 16.68 points or 0.08 percent up in the pre-noon trade Wednesday.
Good buying was observed in healthcare and metal sectors, while selling pressure was seen in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,251.65 points, was trading at 21,267.80 points in the pre-noon session, up 16.68 points or 0.08 percent from the previous day's close at 21,251.12 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,300.90 points and a low of 21,168.43 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE healthcare index gained 112.86 points and metal index went up by 58.32 points, while FMCG index went down by 58.76 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 6.90 points or 0.11 percent up at 6,320.70 points.
