Opinion poll predicts worst-ever performance by Congress

New Delhi, Jan 25 (PTI): The BJP-led NDA is projected to cross 220 seats in the coming Lok Sabha polls, according to an opinion poll.

The survey, conducted by CNN-IBN and CSDS, also projects the worst-ever performance by the Congress, better show by regional parties like the Trinamool Congress and the AIADMK and emergence of the Aam Aadmi Party.

The poll shows the BJP alone getting 192-210 out of the total 543 seats. The Congress is projected to get 92-108 seats.

While the survey projects 211-231 seats to the BJP-led NDA, it gives only 107-127 seats to the Congress-led UPA.

The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool is projected to get 20-28 seats. The survey shows Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK getting 15-23. The Left is projected to get only 15-23 seats. The survey gives 6-12 seats to the AAP. It also projects a dismal show by the Samajwadi Party and the BSP.

The SP is projected to get only 8-14 seats and the BSP 10-16. In terms of poll percentage, the BJP is projected to get a 34 per cent vote share, a 15.2 per cent jump since the 2009 polls. The survey shows ther Congress getting a 27 per cent vote share — a 1.6 per cent decline.

The survey shows that Narendra Modi continues to be the top choice for Prime Minister — much ahead of Rahul Gandhi.

While 34 per cent preferred Mr. Modi for Prime Minister, only 15 per cent supported Mr. Gandhi. Sonia Gandhi is projected third at 5 per cent. It shows AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal getting the support of three per cent for the post.

According to the survey, in a direct face-off between Mr. Modi and Mr. Gandhi, 42 per cent prefer the Gujarat strongman and only 25 per cent prefer the young Congress leader as PM.

Congress deserves to lose for all its follies, mismanagement and corruption. Modi on the other hand deserves to be given a chance to bring the country back on the rails. I wish him all the best.

The opinion poll looks very encouraging for BJP and we need a change at Centre to bring back the damaged image of our country in the World and build new India altogether . I feel congress enjoyed power for 10 years and it is time for sitting in opposition and introspect . The present bottlenecks in our country is price rise , inflation , high level corruption & slowdown of economy etc .Today industry is in very serious crisis if it continues , unemployment issues will raise further and it will be worst for the future of our country .By seeing past records of Mr Narendra Modi as CM of Gujarat the development of Industry in Gujarat , I feel Indian public must give a chance to Mr Modi with absolute majority for running the Govt at centre for building a NEW INDIA.

I feel, People of India should come forward and support Namo for taking some tough decisions and make all of us proud. India need to stand up right in front of World. He will root out all corrupts in party same way he did in Gujarat. If only we give him mandate to do it, then only he can do it. If he has to depend on allies for support, his power will be limited. This will be bad for India.Regional parties come with their selfish agenda. Here we have seen, South is politically very slow except Karnataka. Therefore, regional parties are strong there. North has capacity to trow regional parties, if they feel like giving clear maandate for center. Regional party is fine for states.

As expected by and large it is good news for our Nation. The BJP led NDA should work hard to mingle with the grass root people and give them hope and confidence for their livelihood and work for to attain the magic figure of 272 . we all hope for the best and be always with Modi for a good governance.
