Mangalore, May 18:
A protest will be organised on Monday May 22 by the district unit of AHINDA, a federation of Dalits, minorities and backward classes, against people who are opposing the quota proposal, said AHINDA unit member Lolaksha, while addressing reporters on Wednesday May 17 here.

He said that the demonstration will be held in front of the deputy commissioner's office. He urged the government to implement the proposal in all private educational institutions, regardless of whether they were aided or non-aided, including medical, technological, and management institutes. He also demanded reservations in judiciary and government organisations and appealed to the government to reserve 50 per cent of jobs in the private sector for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.

He further said that the population of SCs, STs and OBCs in 2001 Census must be taken in to consideration while deciding on reservation. He urged the government to dismiss all the doctors who have been opposing the proposal.
