Mangalore, May 19: Mollywood film hero Mohan Lal on Thursday, May 18 visited city to participate in the inauguration of the exclusive showroom of Malabar Gold in Fortune Building at Falnir road.

Huge crowds were attracted by the hero who also interacted with several people during his visit.

The 11 outlet was inaugurated by Minister for Fisheries, Endowment and Horticulture B Nagaraj Shetty.

The showroom will showcase one of the largest collections of jewellery in gold, platinum and diamond from India and across the globe as well as an international array of Swiss watches featuring brand names like "Rado, Omega, Tissot and Longines.

Started with certain NRI alliance in 1993, the company intends to have at least 18 branches by the end of 2006. It has already opened outlets at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Calicut, Tirur, Kannur, Thalassery, Kasargod, Palakkad, Manjeri and Thrissur. Further showrooms will be opened at Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Kodungallur, Badagara, Perinthalmanna, Sultan Battery and Kanhangad, shortly.

Malabar Group of Companies chairman M P Ahmed and Mangalore MLA N Yogish Bhat were also present.
