Mangalore, May 20: The southwestern monsoon waves are likely to enter the western and south-facing coast of India on May 30, the Met department sources have indicated earlier this week from Delhi.

While monsoons normally enter the western coast around June 1, this year it is scheduled to hit the coast two days earlier. This surmise is based on six statistics-based yardsticks determining the monsoon pattern and behaviour.

The early visit apart, said the authorities, that quantum of rainfall was likely to be comparatively less this year.
