Chennai, Feb 1 (IANS): Ford India, a subsidiary of American auto major Ford Motor Company, last month logged 49 percent sales increase compared to the previous year's corresponding period, the company said Saturday.
In a statement Ford India said it sold 10,634 units (domestic 6.706 units, exports 3,928 units) last month, up from 7,115 units (domestic 6,062 units, exports 1,053 units) sold in Jan 2013.
According to Vinay Piparsania, executive director, marketing, sales and service, the company ushered in the New Year on a note of growth.
The company said it would unveil a new global concept vehicle at the ensuing Auto Expo in New Delhi.
"Based on a global design philosophy, but created to serve the specific needs of consumers in India, the concept will showcase Ford's vision for the future in the competitive compact-car segment in India and other dynamic emerging markets," Ford India said.
