Man held for killing wife in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, Feb 1 (IANS): A man was arrested here on charges of killing his wife, after the woman's body was found in a government school Saturday, police said.

Raju Yadav, who works in a hospital in Gurgaon's sector 38, was arrested by Gurgaon police for killing his 24-year-old wife Pooja.

Yadav's cousin Jitender Yadav is also a co-accused in the crime.

Pooja Yadav was found dead in the premises of a government senior secondary school in Kadipur near sector 10, police said. There were strangulation marks on her neck.

"The couple were married nearly a year ago after falling in love. The woman went missing from her house in Shakti Nagar Friday night," police officer Babu Lal told IANS.

The woman's body was found near the school's boundary wall by children playing there Saturday afternoon.

The accused will be presented before a court Sunday. A case under section 302 (murder) and 201 (destroying evidence) has been registered against Raju and Jitender Yadav.
