Canada keen to boost trade, investments with India

New Delhi, Feb 4 (IANS): Canada is keen to boost trade and investments with India, Canadian High Commission to India Stewart Beck has said.

“Increasing bilateral trade and marketing Canada as a destination of choice for investment is a priority for Canada in India,” Beck said in a statement ahead of hosting an interaction with business journalists here.

The Canadian High Commission will host an interactive session here Feb 7 for “intellectual exchange of thoughts” with the business journalists from India, Bhutan and Nepal.

“Canada and India have longstanding bilateral relations, built upon shared traditions of democracy, pluralism and strong interpersonal connections,” the high commissioner said in the statement.

“Canada’s priorities in India include infrastructure, energy, food, education, science and technology. India is an important source country for immigration to Canada,” he added.

The High Commission of Canada to India also represents Canadian interests in Nepal and Bhutan.
