Seven killed in Argentine warehouse fire

Buenos Aires, Feb 5 (IANS): At least seven people -- five firemen and two rescuers -- died and nine others were injured while extinguishing a warehouse fire in the Argentinean capital city Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the morning after a wall collapsed while firefighters were trying to enter the warehouse which was on fire, Xinhua quoted Argentine Security Secretary Sergio Berni as saying.

Some volunteers helping to put out the fire were trapped when two other walls collapsed moments later.

The warehouse was being used for storing paper files, mostly bank documents, and the combustible material caused the fire to spread.
