Mangalore, May 22:
The first meeting of the Mangala Alumni Association (MAA) at Mangalagangotri, Mangalore University, was inaugurated here on Sunday May 21.

Speaking after inaugurating the meeting, Karnataka Bank chairman Ananthakrishna said that one should try to repay the debt of education to his/her alma mater and must show his gratitude by participating in the activities undertaken by the institution.

Ananthakrishna was also selected as the honorary president of the Association. Expressing his support to MAA, he said that the association should plan its proceedings and should publish an alumni directory.

As part of its future projects the university plans to establish an evaluation centre, full-fledged canteen, 400 mts track, auditorium and residential infrastructure.

Prof K M Kaveriappa presided over the function. Among those present were Registrar K Sunder Naik, student welfare director Prof K K Achary and meet convener Prof P S Yedapadithaya.
