SC notice to Kejriwal on defamation suit

New Delhi, Feb 7 (IANS): Supreme Court Friday issued notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on a petition challenging a Delhi High Court order in a defamation case against him.

The Supreme Court also stayed the operation of the high court order that had permitted Kejriwal to approach the lower court for his discharge in the defamation suit filed by Amit Sibal, son of Law Minister Kapil Sibal.

The defamation suit is rooted in a May 15, 2013 press conference in which Kejriwal, while alleging conflict of interest, had said that Amit Sibal had appeared in the Supreme Court for Vodafone while his father was the communications minister.

The lower court had issued summons to Kejriwal and others. Kejriwal had moved the high court seeking exemption from appearance as he wanted to be discharged in the matter. The high court had allowed this.

Every one knows Amit Sibal had used his father's position in getting a relief to Vodafone whereby he received crores of rupees as professional fees. The allegation by Kejriwal is true. However, this cannot be proved in court of law.Court needs evidence and proof.Kejriwal will come in trouble and may have pay a heavy penalty.

AAP is bringing reforms to Indian Politics. It is a right step.
However, AAP is also an expert in defaming others, partly to correct the system and partly to derive mileage for their party.
Finally AAP will have to gain by its actions, and not by merely defaming other parties.

AAP is not reforming politics. Its reforming system. AAP is new in this field. It is a severe uneasy task to trace and break corrupt system, because the whole system is corrupt linked top to bottom & left to right.
