Udupi / Padubidri, May 24: A bike-rider and his pillion-mate were hit by a speeding bus at Adve junction on the Padubidri-Kudremukh highway on Tuesday afternoon around 1-00. Fatally injured, they were rushed to the hospital but both are said to have died on the way.
They have been identified as Vasant Poojary (34) of Beedu near Padubidri and Prakash Kotian (31) of Chiranti near Mulki, said to be an ice-cream parlour employee.
The express bus was plying from Karkala to Padubidri.
