Doha, May 24: The second and concluding part of the annual competitions organized by Mangalore Cricket Club, Qatar, was held on Friday, May 19 at 4 p.m. at the Qatar Malayali Samajam Hall, Doha. The talent show was open to all Mangalorean Catholics.
While children below 12 years exhibited their talents in fancy dress, cinematic dances, bharathanatyam, folk dances and keyboard, men and ladies in the adult category (19 yrs and above) regaled the audience with their innovative fancy dress and comic skits.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the quality of the items presented.
The performance of the participants was judged by Ivy Rosario, Mario D'Costa, Dr Wilma Fernandes and Sylvia Miranda.
Rev. Fr Valerian Frank, Parish Priest of Madyanthar Church, and Rev. Fr. Gaspar Fernandes, Assistant Parish Priest, Our Lady of the Rosary, Qatar, addressed the audience and appreciated the efforts of the participants.
President Richard D'Souza thanked all the participants for their efforts, judges for their time and the members of the audience for their encouragement and applause.
The winners of the singing and the talent show competitions will be honored at the Nativity Day celebration in September.
