Jansrud continues Norway's dominance in super-G


Sochi, Feb 16 (IANS): Kjetil Jansrud won the gold medal Sunday at the Sochi Winter Games to continue Norway's dominance in the sport at the Olympics.

This was Norway's fourth straight men's super-G title at the Olympics, reports Xinhua.

Jansrud clocked a minute, 18.14 seconds, beating American Andrew Weibrecht in second place by 0.30 seconds.

Bode Miller, also of the United States, and Jan Hudec from Canada, shared the third place in 1:18.67.

Men's super-G has been Norway's domain since 2002, when Kjetil Andre Aamodt was crowned teh Olympic champion.

Aamodt defended his title in 2006 and Aksel Lund Svindal did the same in 2010.
