Bangkok, Feb 16 (IANS): The Thai government Sunday ruled out any further peace talks with opposition protestors and an official said all rally sites in the capital and nearby areas occupied by them shall be got vacated by police this week.

Chalerm Yubamrung, director of the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order, said there would be no more talks with the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) since all previous attempts had failed, reported the Bangkok Post.

The government had exercised restraint and patience so far but would now get vacated all areas occupied by protestors who launched a campaign in November last year to oust Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra from office, Chalerm said.

He said one of the areas to be cleared was the vicinity of the government house, where the PDRC protestors have been stopping officials from entering the office.

Protest leader Luang Pu Buddha Issala would be asked to move PDRC protestors away from the Chaeng Wattana rally site or be subject to serious legal action, he added.

The protestors at the interior ministry would be asked to move out. The occupied area at the energy ministry would be taken back as the protestors have been disturbing people, Chalerm said.

Police would clear protestors from these areas and if there was resistance, they had been told to use firearms against the protestors, he said.

Since peace talks have been held 10 times so far without any result, there would be no attempt to hold any further talks, Chalerm said.
