Dubai, May 25: It's a much-needed tonic for the youth spread around Dubai.

No one until now had thought of bringing the sizeable younger generation under a single roof for a day and discuss their problems, enable them to exchange their ideas to build a better career, in order that a society based on human values be evolved.

Ullas Fernandes, a dynamic youth haliling from Siddakkatte parish of Bantwal Varado, gave it a serious thought and it was well accepted by like-minded persons. He is the leading light for the youth of St Mary's Konkani community Konkan Yuva.

Ullas, who has a fund of experience in leading youth organizations in Mangalore, and also led the Mangalore Diocese ICYM for a term as president, says "Our youth in this part of the world are not coming under one umbrella. It is a need of the hour that they have to meet and discuss their problems. A point for counselling is required. A platform is required to exhibit their talent, and the most important fact is that our youth the key factor for our future generation, and we have build a good society."

The Youth wing of Saint Mary's Konkani Community (SMKC), popularlyknown as "Konkan Yuva" is back once again with a wake-up call to all the youth from the Konkan belt of India to come together under one roof. Under the guidance of Fr Frederick D'Souza, who has been a source of inspiration for the organization, this is the first time in Dubai that such a large gathering of Konkani youth is being organized where the youth will get to know each other and learn the routes to success.

A question may crop up in the parents' minds whether to take it seriously and overlook this opportunity. But it is the parents' responsibility to take a decision in the matter in the interest of gainful development of their youth's personalities and life. It can lead to a better life.

It will be a fun-filled day which will include:

Tele-games, contests, quiz competition, dance and lots more, with exciting prizes to be won and memories of the day to be carried home to share with other youth.

Session which involves each and every youth to partake of:

  • How to be on the lookout for better prospects
  • How to advance in life
  • How to appear for an interview
  • Growth within the company
