Kundapur, May 25: The "Vhodelm Fest" of St Anthony's Church of Padukone near here was celebrated with pomp on Wednesday May 24. It was a rare occasion when the vhodlem fest was celebrated in the month of May.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration began at 10.30 am with Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore being the main celebrant. A total of 24 priests from the neighbouring parishes concelebrated the Eucharist.
Melodious choir by the parishioners enhanced the festivity of the occasion. Thousands of devotees too joined the clergy for the solemn sung mass.
After the mass a small felicitation programme was organized. Bishop honoured the donors and sponsors who had contributed towards the renovation of the church.
Famous Konkani composer and singer Wilson Olivera who hails from the same parish too was hounoured on the occasion.
