American Shiffrin takes women's slalom title


Rosa Khutor (Russia), Feb 22 (IANS): World champion Mikaela Shiffrin of the US claimed the women's slalom title at the Sochi Olympics Friday.

The 18-year-old clocked one minute 44.54 seconds for two runs, 0.53 seconds ahead of Marlies Schild of Austria, who won her fourth Olympic medal in three Games, Xinhua reported.

Katrin Zettel, also of Austria, bagged the bronze at 0.81 seconds.
