Japan releases Chinese fishing boat


Tokyo, Feb 22 (IANS): A Chinese fishing boat detained by Japan was released Saturday along with all crew members on board after conclusion of legal procedures, the Chinese consulate in Fukuoka city said.

The boat registered in China's Zhejiang province was detained off Goto city in Nagasaki prefecture Friday for "untrue working log", Xinhua reported citing a consulate statement.

Nine crew members were on board when the incident happened and the captain was transferred to Hakata area in Fukuoka city after the detainment.
