Mumbai, Feb 24 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 65.29 points or 0.32 percent up in the pre-noon trade Monday.
Good buying was observed in capital goods, auto and banking index (bankex) sectors, while some selling pressure was seen in IT sector.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,695.48 points, was trading at 20,766.04 points in the pre-noon session, up 65.29 points or 0.32 percent from the previous day's close at 20,700.75 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 20,770.80 points and a low of 20,637.30 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE capital goods index gained 202.20 points, auto index went up by 122.86 points and bankex inched up by 98.14 points. However, IT index dropped 45.67 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 14.35 points or 0.23 percent at 6,169.80 points.
