Mangalore, May 28: Amidst the thuds of digital fireworks and glitter of aerial crackers, the new Chevrolet Aveo car was launched in the district by deputy commissioner Dr H V Parshwanath at a colourful function held on the Eden Club lawns here on Saturday night, organized by its dealers, Frontline Automobiles.
State minister B Nagaraj Shetty who was originally scheduled to unveil the sleek new car could not be present. The DC complimented the dealers for bringing yet another sleek car to the city. While pointing out that with so many new projects and developmental packages were on the anvil for Mangalore, expressed the hope that the new cars would give a new face to the city.
Dr Parshwanath also handed over the keys to new owners of Aveo - Nityanand and Swarupa Shetty, Edward Albuquerque, Rajaram Prabhu, Abdul Rahim, Vinod Mallya, Preeti D'Souza and Vasudeva Shenoy.
Frontline Automobiles directors Jaffer Misbah, Shailesh Baliga and Vivek Sherlekar, event manager Titus Noronha of Rahul Advertisers, a large number of businesspersons and others were present on the occasion.
