New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS): It was a pleasant Monday in the national capital with the maximum temperature recorded at 22.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average. The Met Office has forecast a clear Tuesday.
The maximum and the minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 23 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius, it said.
"The day will start with moderate fog while sky will remain partially cloudy in the morning hours which will later clear as the day progress," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
The minimum temperature settled at 10 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
"Over 52 flights were disrupted because of poor visibility, which dropped to below 100 metres due to fog," said Kapil Sabarwal, spokesperson, Indira Gandhi International Airport.
According to a statement released by the Northern Railway, 14 trains were delayed.
However, the day later turned out to be pleasant as the skies cleared.
Sunday's maximum temperature settled at 22 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was a notch above the season's average at 12 degrees Celsius.
