Doha, Feb 25: In the 9TH IBQ Masters Cricket Tournament 2014, QALCO defeated HANAN by a huge margin of 95 runs.

At the prize distribution ceremony Chandramohan Pillai, head of admin and facilities was the chief guest and guests of honor were S Nair from iGlow, India and Moheib, Al Fardan Group.

The prize distribution witnessed a total of over 350 prizes given away. All the league matches, extra ordinary performances, umpires and scorers, commentators and individual prizes for the winners and runners up  team members culminating in a complimentary Lucky Draw for all attendees.

Winning the toss HANAN put in QALCO to bat. QALCO lost both openers cheaply and were 19 runs for 2 wickets at the end of 2 overs. Thereafter strong batting by Budhika scoring 36 runs with 2 sixes and 3 boundaries, Sarfaraz 28 runs with  3 sixes and 1 boundary, Aftab 19 runs with 1 six and 1 boundary and Talha 18 runs  with 3 sixes saw QALCO  total 177 runs for  the loss of 10 wickets  in the allotted  20 overs.

Shakeel claimed 4 wickets, Farooq 2 wickets, while Khadeer and Nazir took a wicket each.

In response HANAN batsmen seemed in a hurry and regularly lost wickets. Rauf was the only one to resist and was run out on 20 runs including a six and a boundary. While opener Arif was the only other batsman to reach double figures scoring 14 runs with a six. HANAN were all out for 82 runs in 17 overs.

Inthikab  and Zameer  took 2 wickets each  while Danuka, Talha, Ifzal, Sarfaraz, Shafique and Muzammil took a wicket each.
