Doha: QVC win IBQ Masters Cricket Trophy

Doha, Feb 28: In Division II of the '9TH IBQ masters cricket tournament' QVC had an easy victory over 'Alfardan' defeating them by 74 runs.

Put into bat by Alfardan, QVC scored a mammoth 197 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 over.  Mushir was run out on 40 runs which included 4 sixes and 2 boundaries, Hidayat scored  26 runs with 3 sixes and 1 boundary, Upul  was out  for 22 runs with 2 sixes and 1 boundary and Shaman scored 21 runs while  Ramzan contributed 18 runs.

Tanveer took two wickets while Mehraj, Elangesh, Shabaaz and Abbas took a wicket each.

In response Alfardan started slow when in the second over Subash claimed 3 wickets, that of Faizan-3 runs, Elangesh-3 runs and Mufees-1 run leaving Alfardan tottering at 7 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Akram tried to repair the damage and scored 36 runs not out with 2 sixes and 1 boundary. Abbas was the only other batsman to reach double figures scoring 17 runs. Finally Alfardan  could only manage 123 runs  for the loss of 10 wickets.

Subash took 3 wickets, Jameel and Shaman 2 wickets each while Mushir, Ramazan and Zaheer took a wicket each.

Best Batsman : Tanveer/Al Fardan
Best Bowler : Zaheer  / QVC
Best All Rounder : Naveed / IBQ
Best Wicket Keeper : Abhijit / Mitra Mandal

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by supporters and well wishers. Over 350 prizes were given away to various players in the tournament.

The prize distribution ended with complimentary refreshments and a lucky draw for spectators.
