Reports claim woman who kissed Rahul burnt by husband, police deny

Guwahati, Mar 1 (Zee News): The police have denied that the woman, who died of burn injuries in Assam, was the one who had kissed Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi during his recent two-day state visit, news reports claimed on Saturday.

A news channel quoted Superintendent of Police Amanjeet Kaur as saying that the woman who died was a Congress member, but was not present during Rahul's meet. The SP said the investigations are on.

In yet another conflicting report, a leading newspaper quoted Sub-Divisional Police officer Kulendra Deka as saying that the police have checked the video of Rahul's interaction session, but the lady in question was nowhere close to the Congress vice president during the entire event. The police officer also said that no complaint has been filed, which says the husband set her wife on fire.

Earlier, separate reports had claimed that the woman, who kissed the Gandhi scion during his Assam tour, was burnt to death allegedly by her husband.

Reports said that a quarrel occurred between the couple over the kissing incident, following which the husband set his wife on fire.

The lady's husband is also said to have suffered 40 percent burn injuries and is currently hospitalised.

It is still unclear whether the unfortunate incident is linked to the kissing incident.

Rahul Gandhi, who is touring different parts of the country in order to revive his party's fortunes, was welcomed with kisses on his cheek and on his head during his visit to Jorhat in Assam on Wednesday.

Rahul Gandhi was interacting with a huge gathering of women, when two women came closer to him, kissed on his cheek and forehead respectively, slightly embarrassing the young Congress leader.

Despite the unprecedented but pleasant gesture, the Gandhi scion, however, sportingly met all the women supporters who came forward to shake hands with him.

Rahul met over 600 self help groups and Congress members in Jorhat and interacted with them wholeheartedly.

While interacting with the women, the Congress vice president said that women of this country can become the prime minister, chief minister. He also said that northeastern women are more talented and brave than others.

    Hi Joseph,

I agree with you Congress is non communal, if (and only if) it ends its alliance with Muslim League (Which is the only communal party in India which does not allow other religion to become its member)

Basically Hindus woke up in their own country in the name of RSS because Congress was against the Uniform Civil Code.

If you are really do not want to support a non-communal party, better start your own party. Because, all parties are communal.

Why BJP, RSS & you have to eat leftover in our own home? Only those migrated from Italy are eating leftover from our plate.

Kissing Rahul will end up in death.
Pi**ing on BJP, you get releived fom pressure...:-)

Yes, indeed, we are Daiji Mangaloreans and foremost Indians.
Que Sera Sera, whatever will be, will be, the result only for us to see. We have a strong constitution, a very strong Supreme court and fortunately will have a strong opposition. When our soldier dies, he does not see whom he is rescuing, but Indians. Corruption and communal activities, the law takes care. No doubt, our law works very slow. They say even God sees the truth, but waits. Why Upar wala jan kar bhi, anjan hai, we do not know.

    With due respect:

Some people here are hardcore congress supporters (like Rohith, Jossey, Prem, Joseph, Juliet, Joslyn, Ismail etc) and they openly admit it.

Some people are hardcore BJP supporters (Myself, Jeevan, KR Prabhu, SV Pai, Rajesh Shetty, Avinash etc) and they openly admit it.

Some more people are neutral like R Bhandarkar, Jaimini etc. They blame/praise all parties, politicians.

These three classes are very common here.

But there is one more special class called PSEUDO CLASS to which YOU and COUPLE OF OTHERS here belongs to. You are supporter of congress, all your comments are blaming BJP, but you have PROBLEM in accepting that you are a CONGRESS SUPPORTER. This is the worst case man..

Now coming to the matter, I blame Rahul Gandhi more than those women. Offcourse the women are wrong. Don't compare those simple women with VICE PRESIDENT OF CONGRESS. Fans go crazy. When they wanted to kiss him, he could have avoided them. There is a decency one need to show in public. After all he is not a model or film actor. Kissing in public is not accepted by people of India. No Indian husband will tolerate this. I always said Rahul Gandhi need to develop maturity level, it could be this case, traveling on roof of the jeep, sharing his family sentiments in public, narrating about his family history, cheap mosquito statements, calling Bangalore as state etc etc.

Joke of the century. Who told I am congress supporter? Elders have told don't argue with an idiot. So, I better not to argue with you. Your comments are just rubbish and only fit for the dustbin. Have you not seen my comments against Veerappa Moily/Oscar? Do they belong to the BJP? I am laughing at your ignorance. Keep it up. You are fit only for stupid comments.

Mr. Dinesh Poojary, Kundapura/Bengaluru,is a Hench-Man of RSS AND BJP.

KRPrabhuji is not a hardcore supporter of BJP. He had openly supported Congress in the last assembly election in Karnataka.

I am only a supporter of Congress because they are not touching the religion.

BJP and its associates are first catching the nerve of the religion.

For this only i am supporting congress.

BJP AND RSS have a habit of eating the leftover/ Yenjalu thinnuva aase.

    For Rahulji women are kissing.
Hope to bjp Janata will be Pi**ing.

Kamath...I don't want to comment out of subject. I commented on this subject. I don't have habit of running around bushes. For Dinesh, only BJP is right and the rest of all political parties are wrong. I don't have any political affiliations. For me what is right and right and what is wrong is wrong and I don't care what somebody thinks about me as I am there for truth.

Read the second and third para once again if you can understand English. Don't comment just for the sake of commenting. India won't develop because of you narrow minded people who just comment and act without looking at the facts. Whoever it may be, Congress or BJP or any other political party, we should not blame them unnecessarily. You have the habit of commenting without any factual proof.
