Mangalore, May 30: "Mahimotsav", the blessing and inaugural function of the renovated St Jude's Shrine at Pakshikere near Kinnigoly here was held on Tuesday May 30 morning.

The renovated church building was blessed and inaugurated by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore at 10 am on Tuesday.  Bishop then celebrated the solemn Eucharistic celebration along with the parish priest Fr Alban D'Souza and several other priests.  Thousands of devotees partook in the solemn sung mass.

A small felicitation ceremony was held immediately after the Eucharistic celebration which was presided over by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza.

The felicitation programme began with prayer hymn.  The former parish priests and vice-presidents of the church were honoured on the occasion. 

Fr Alban D'Souza welcomed the gathering and parish council vice-president Louis D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

Gilbert D'Souza and Jyothi Cutinho compered the programme.
