Mangalore, May 30 (Tuesday, 8-00 pm): At an eventful function held in the meeting hall of the Bishop's House on Tuesday afternoon, Do-Re-Me-Fa, a compilation of Gerry D'Mello's popular column on music and music-makers in book form, was released by Bishop Aloysius P D'Souza.
Outgoing Raknno editor Fr Eric Crasta welcomed the gathering. Former Raknno editor Fr Mark Valdar released 'Kanun Darshan', a book on legal matters for the common man.
Fr Eric Crasta released 'Sompodolem ani Uprant', a music album by Benny Teacher. Consolation prize and bumper prize of Bible Quiz were handed over by Benny Teacher and Bishop Aloysius respectively.
The Bishop also honoured Benny Teacher for her achievements in the field of inspirational music and contribution towards social causes, and then gave his message to suit the occasion.
In the latter part of the function, a formal handing over of the charge of editor from Fr Eric Crasta to Fr Francis Rodrigues was also held. James Lewis and Basti Vaman Shenoy wished Fr Crasta well. A citation was read and presented by Raknno manager Percy Noronha. Vicar general Msgr Fred Pereira honoured Fr Crasta, who also shared his thoughts and experiences with the gathering.
The handing over ceremony was formalized by Bishop's representative Fr Joseph Lobo. Joachim Pinto Vamanjoor proposed the vote of thanks.
Pachu Ferar and Jyoti Lasrado compered the function.
