Gopal Kanda gets bail in Geetika Sharma suicide case

New Delhi, Mar 4 (Agencies) : A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda.

Kanda is accused of abetting the suicide of a former airhostess, Geetika Sharma, who worked in the now defunct MDLR Airlines. The court had denied bail to Kanda in October last year.

Kanda had surrendered before the court on August 18, 2012.

Kanda, who represents Sirsa in the Haryana assembly, was earlier given bail for a month to attend the state assembly.

He had later moved an application for extension of the interim bail.

Kanda and his aide Aruna Chaddha are accused of abetting the suicide of a 23-year-old former air hostess. The two have denied the allegations.

The suicide note of the victim, who ended her life on the night of Aug 4-5, 2012, accused Kanda and Chaddha of harassing her.

Kanda has been charged with rape, abetment to rape and suicide, criminal conspiracy and forgery and under the IT Act for hacking computers and sending offensive or false messages.

    @ feminist , I DISAGREE. Khanda had every right to reject or accept a marriage proposal. Girl had consented for relationship so she cannot emotionally force man. Live in can be legal now a days , so why not as a 'mistress'. Empowering gf or wife is to contribute to the family rather than society. Why can't expect a domestic house wife?. Its the feminist ideology which say husbands has to empower women to be independent.

    Please don't ever point out at the girl.If you don't know the whole scenario.Miss Sharma was harassed vey badly.She was duped by kanda for marriage proposal.You can check in google their pics along with sharma's family.He also visited Amritsar temple along with them.Which guy will impress Girl's parents to such an extent of getting mobiles,watches,costly gift to the whole family.Only a guy who wants to marry her or make her his mistress.Any girl in sharma's place will obviously think of marrying such guy.Sharma even tried to start a new life ,once she came to know ,she was duped.She had got a job in emirates airlines and wanted to settle in Dubai to get over it.But here also he sent false character conduct emails(can u see last para in above news IT act for hacking computers) to emirates management.This made her to lose her job.Again he started torturing her n her family after her return.He was not allowing her to start a new career.He wanted her to be his mistress for lifelong.Every girl has a wish to be honored n get her own status ,if she is attached to any man.
    Respect women,Woman is not front or back of her man.She is always besides her man.I hope you get that!!!

    I appreciate KHANDA for standing up against feminist media and nazisist women rights groups. Its sad that girl lost life , peace be with her soul . But cannot blame it on kanda just because he did not marry her after having a short term affair. Some Girls nowadays openly abuse the law by trapping innocent successful men after having relationships , just like honey trap. The extent of partiality is enormous as it puts choices are only for women. If men do not agree for matrimony , he can b framed under sexual assault sections Or if he forces her for a serious relationship, then it becomes a violation of rights or ambition and he can b framed under force or harassment. CLEAR DOUBLE STANDARDS.

    As the election is approaching, many high profile politicians will get released.
    This is the internal understanding of all political parties.
    Law is made for Aam Aadmi,
    politician and high profile business man can cheat in crores or murder anybody and get away with the law.
    At the same time if a common man defaults in few thousands or for petty offenses will be sent to jail.
