Indian-origin boy died from internal bleeding: Death certificate

London, March 4 (IANS): An Indian-origin boy, whose body was found two days after he mysteriously went missing from his home in Scotland's capital Edinburgh, died from internal bleeding and inflammation, according to his death certificate.

Three-year-old Mikaeel Kular went missing from his home in Edinburgh Jan 15 and his body was found in Fife, 30 miles from Edinburgh, two days later.

The certificate issued by an authority of Scotland stated the cause of death as "peritonitis and intra-abdominal haemorrhage" and said an investigation of the facts of the case was pending, the Mirror reported Tuesday.

The National Health Service (NHS) Scotland website defines peritonitis as inflammation of the peritoneum, the thin lining of the abdomen.

And an intra-abdominal haemorrhage is defined by the website as bleeding inside the patient’s abdomen.

Mikaeel had gone missing from his home after his mother, Rosdeep, apparently put him to bed in their flat in their home at 9 p.m. Jan 15.

Rosdeep was later arrested and charged with the murder of her son.
