Chennai, Jun 1: A bill to provide reservation for students belonging to BC, SC and ST communities in private educational institutions was passed in the Tamil Nadu assembly on Wednesday.

Law Minister I Periyasamy said the bill was aimed at the advancement of people belonging to the BC, SC and ST communities.

It would apply to private educational institutions aided or unaided by the government other than minority educational institutions.
