Gurgaon students go missing, people block expressway

Gurgaon, March 5 (IANS): People Wednesday blocked the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway protesting police inaction in the case of three teenaged students who went missing from their school here Tuesday, police said.

Residents of the Rajiv Colony and Hans Enclave blocked the expressway (Delhi to Jaipur loop) and demanded police launch immediate search for the teenagers.

The demonstration caused massive traffic snarls on the expressway. Though police diverted the traffic from Rajiv Chowk via Subhash Chowk to reconnect to the expressway at Hero Honda Chowk, it brought no relief to the commuters.

Large number of office-goers were trapped in long queues.

The students - Vikas, Yogesh and Utkarsh - went missing Tuesday from a private school in Rajiv Colony.

"The trio were in the same class and ran away from school when a teacher asked them to show their home work Tuesday," Vijay Kumar, chief of Sadar police station, told IANS.

"We have registered a kidnapping case against unidentified people and seven police teams have been pressed into search operation," he said.
