AAP-BJP clashes: 14 arrested, FIR against Ashutosh, Shazia

New Delhi, Mar 6 (PTI): Fourteen AAP members were arrested after Delhi Police registered an FIR in connection with the clashes outside the BJP national headquarters here between supporters of the two parties that left 28 people injured.

According to police sources, an FIR has been lodged at Parliament Street Police Station last night against the AAP protesters including leaders Ashutosh and Shazia Ilmi.

Charges of rioting, obstructing a public servant from performing his duty and damaging public property have been slapped against them, the sources said.

Police had initially detained 33 people out of which 14 were arrested late last night while others were allowed to go.

"All those indetifiable and present at the protest site have been named in the FIR," said a senior Delhi police official.

Those arrested will be produced before a local court here in the afternoon.

28 people, including 13 AAP activists and 10 BJP supporters, were injured in the clashes, police said.

Police have termed the AAP protest as completely illegal as no prior permission was sought in this connection by the party.

Police have also got the entire sequence of events videographed and senior officials said that more arrests are possible after identification in the video footage.

AAP workers had yesterday clashed with BJP activists outside the saffron party headquarters in Delhi and Lucknow after Arvind Kejriwal's car was damaged in Gujarat in retaliation to protests against his brief detention in the state.

Kejriwal, who began a 4-day tour of Gujarat yesterday, was yesterday detained for alleged violation of the model code of conduct by travelling in a long carcade. Shortly later, he was allowed to go.

Accusing Narendra Modi of getting scared of Kejriwal and initiating police action, AAP workers had stormed the BJP head office on Ashoka Road in central Delhi protesting against Kejriwal's detention in Radhanpur in North Gujarat where he has gone to "inspect" development that has been claimed by Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The rival sides had attacked each other indulging in pelting of stones. Plastic chairs were hurled from inside BJP office on the protesters outside.Police had used water canons to disperse the warring activists.

In Lucknow, workers of Aam Aadmi Party, armed with brooms, had clashed with lathi-wielding activists of BJP and fought pitched street battles outside BJP office on Vidhan Sabha Marg in protest against detention of Kejriwal.

Around three dozen AAP workers had staged a demonstration outside the BJP headquarters and allegedly attacked the saffron party office with bricks, drawing retaliation as BJP workers, carrying canes, took to the streets.

Kejriwal had yesterday accused the BJP of instigating violence in front of its headquarters in Delhi even as he apologised for some AAP activists "retaliating" while protesting his detention.

Kejriwal claimed that AAP workers were first attacked by BJP supporters. Some of the agitated AAP workers had responded by pelting "two or three stones"...

"I am sorry for the mistakes committed by the AAP workers. They should not have resorted to violence on my detention," he said.

He also blamed BJP workers for attacking his entourage while travelling in Gujarat and said the glass panes of his car were broken.

And police is of course under UPA Control...So... whats biased abt it?! As far as your latest comment about the undemocratic arrest of Nautanki Kejriwal...1st thing it is mandatory to have Police permission to have any road show...which he got while carrying out road show and secondly the election commission has by that time announced the election date along with code of conduct which will not allow someone bluntly hold any road show. At the same time polce is answerable to election commission during the season...! In the temporary absence of both & that situation police has all right to arrest one.

    Dear Mr. Sudhakar, Kallianpur
Every Indian knows bjp is a communal party and dividing the communities. These higher castes of rss are meant for that.
How then BJP changed its colors with shiromani akali dhal?!
Anybody is welcome in congress only if they agrees to secular credentials and not fundamental and agrees to be with congress respecting sovereignty and integrity of India.

It is the bjp and its supporters say appeasing minorities and now they themselves say bowing their heads and apologizing to Muslims for blunders and not apologizing for Gujarat massacres. BJP is changing its colors, telling that congress massacred Sikhs. In fact RSS, BJP, VHP were all heavily involved in the massacres.

IT IS ATEL BEHARI VAJPAYEE WHO SUGGESTED INDIRA GANDHI TO USE MILITARY FOR OPERATION BLUSTAR AND NOW BJP IS SHEDDING CROCODILE TEARS.
MILITARY USED IN THE GOLDEN TEMPLE TO FLUSH OUT SEPERATIST EXTRIMISTS OF KHALISTAN.
And congress leaders have sacrificed for the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.

Bjp and RSS have butchered humans.

To be more fair, If we take Sikh massacres charges, then we have to consider india Pakistan massacres case also. Do you agree?!

You will not agree because you are a blind supporter of Modi the Murderer.

This might be a conspiracy, Who is hatchng this conspiracy against whom is a very well planned game.

If Krejwal contesting election against Modiji, and Krejwal wins, then Modiji becoming PM is lost AND if BJP gets majority, then the PM option will open. Arun Jaitley or Sushma Swaraj will have a chance of becoming PM. Again the bramin lobby in BJP/RSS who used Modiji's charisma to win the election will back track after the election provided if Modiji loose against Krejwal. The true colour will come out only after the election. Some commentators may outright condemn, disagree, but this is my own observation.

I hold no brief for congress, BJP or AAP. I saw in the paper that the pertinent D.C. has clarified that Kejriwal does not need permission. I just happened to watch the incident from start to end. First iron rods were flung and then plastic chairs, from BJP side. Then started stoning. Who started first, I can not make out. There were bricks also. Reporters say no stones were around. Some people are of the opinion that all parties keep stones near their office for emergency. Some say the bricks were shilanyas bricks. I doubt this, because a hindu, if he has even a little love for Ram, will not cast shilanyas bricks. People say AAP and 3rd front, like Raj Thackeray in Maharashtra, is a tactical move, carefully planned by congress to keep NAMO from PM post.

Yesterday whole nation watched, it was AAP goons who hurl stones amidst water cannon charge and trying to open gate. As counter defense, chairs were thrown to goons. He can do anything he want, but no one should question him ??? Day and night he only thinks of Dharna and Drama.. Before preaching after watching his emotional video, watch every videos you will get to see, how he himself asked police to arrest him..
Soon after the incident he said, One AAP member was involved in violence and he condemn it, After series of video footage shown even a leaders like shazia, ashuthosh pelting stone and more n more members involved in violence he came with a fresh statement to apologies.. What an ANARCHIST..

It is like My Way or No Way for him.. Such a Disgusting Character.. There were more than 28 states in the country, but he choose Gujarath, that it self says howmuch Gujarath is developed.. We dont need a Certificate from him... He better concentrate on building Naxal AAP..

Well let me ask you one question: He said, you gave me 28 seats in Delhi, Now give me 40 seats in LS election. I ask you, Why 40 ? What you want to do with 40, Do you want to pay back the Dues of Congress in Delhi ? Or you want to Support CHOR Neta for PM (according to him everyone is CHOR, except him), If yes who is that CHOR ?, or he already Dreaming of becoming PM of the nation with 40... Nonsense..

The BJP walas are a bunch of trained extremists who are taught by Sanghis to attack with lathis, use gas cylinders in demolishing walls as we saw in Ehsan Jaffery case and use Gas cutters to demolish places of worship as we saw in 1992.

Fascist BJP supporters are taught to spread false rumours, start riots, political murders and indulge in false propaganda and drive a wedge between communities.

BJP's secret ideology is to alienate 20 crores minorities in India and treat them as second class citizens by eventually depriving them of their rights.

For example, see more about Juhapur, Ahmedabad and other ghettoes in BJP ruled states.

    NM,

What about ghettos like Mumbra, Bhiwandi, Mallapuram which exist in non BJP ruled states? Secularism of Congress!

In 2012, Congress led UDF govt in Kerala informed Hon Kerala HC that PFI is another SIMI.
When Secular Congress led UPA has banned anti national SIMI why not PFI?????

    NM,

Pity your comprehension. Ghetto like Mallapuram means ghettos exist there and Mallapuram is known for it.
Ghettos in district Mallapuram is as good as calling Mallapuram as ghetto.
Just like palace exist in district Mysore but called as Mysore place for easy understanding.

This Page 3 personality...ANARCHIST Kejriwal and his followers are good for nothing! As people are realizing the facts in Delhi, they are trying very hard to be in the limelight... which is not going to work anyway! In Delhi the popularity rate has gone down drastically from pre-poll to post poll and there after further reducing this Anarchist's resignation from CM position...! All we can say is he and his party is JUST waste of time & energy for everybody!

We should thank Congress for showing AAP real face by extending support in Delhi..otherwise they would have campaigned all over INDIA by selling dreams/fooling around..History repeats, great JP movements created Indias most corrupt leaders and Anna movement created Anarchy leaders..Now,Congress & supporters should refrain from indirectly supporting AAP since it will prove costly for Congress..Already it is losing ground for allies in states all over INDIA..

THIS IS A PRE PLANNED DRAMA BY AAP TO CREATE UNREST AT DELHI BECAUSE OF KEJRIWAL'S VISIT TO GUJARAT.
THIS MAY EFFECT AAP & KEJRIWAL BECAUSE SIMPLE PROBLEM OF CAR INCIDENT DURING TRAVELLING IN A LONG CARCADE WHEN MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT IS IN FORCE AND LINKING IT TO DELHI THERE BY SAYING SORRY MAY NOT BE WISE DRAMA FOR SYMPATHY.
FIRST OF ALL, VISITING GUJARAT AS A INSPECTOR IS A DRAMA PLAY BY A PERSON WHO CANNOT RUN GOVT. FOR MERE TWO MONTHS AND MODI IS RULING GUJARAT FOR THE PAST 15YEARS.
AAP HAS PROVED LIKE FIT CASE TO FIGHT ON ROAD WITH BROOMSTIC AS THEIR CULTURE EVEN IF IT GETS POWER AND MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE GOOD GOVERNENCE FOR ONE REASON OR THE OTHER.

Dear Friends, there are number of videos and photos d on internet regarding yesterdays incident, Kindly watch those videos and apply your brain and decide..

Once the EC Model code of conduct comes in to effect, Police, DC will be answerable to Election Commission and not to State govt. Hence, to conduct any Road show required permission, Which Lier Kejri did not have. And Please watch the video, He clearly tells the Police to ARREST ME, I dont have the permission for this road show.. I say How can you play such a Cheap game that Getting arrested of your own, and then blame Modi..

His Primary motto is only and Only to blame Modi for everything just like some of our readers are here, Now comes to the next part,Soon after he was detained for questioning, AAP started sending SMS to everyone (Arnab has read it for All), Asking people to come for Protest against BJP @ 5.30pm and gather in large number... What does it tells you ? Why do you need people to gather in BJP HQ ?

You must have also seen, a Journalist like Ashuthosh Climbing the Wall of BJP, and its supporters Climbing Police vans ? Ohh My God.. Is this is Aam aadmi party or AATHANKWADIWADI AADMI PARTY ?

What more you can expect when the party is full of Naxxalities and Terrorist sympathizers.. Yestrday Naxal Leader whos head costs 20 Lac ruppes Reward by the Police dept, for killing 20 people including his on Wife joins AAP.. When Naxal and Moist joins AAP in Large number what more can you expect..

This is not Aam aadmo party.. This is Naxal AAP, This is Aathankwadi aadmi party, This is Terrorist Aadmi Party..

    Perfect.

Yes all of us are concerned about corruption and know all the existing parties are party for growth of corruption.

But this is not the way to stop corruption. AAP has chosen Naxal path and feel the violent protests get them media coverage. But for those blind supporters all the sympathizers have distanced from AAP.

AAP's donation collection reflects the real state of support. From over Rs.20.00 Crore for Delhi Assembly Elections the Donation collection has just crossed Rs.10.00 Crore for their Pan India Power dream.

AAP was middle/lower class dream reply to present day politics. But the power greedy Krejiwal has disappointed everyone. He has messed up the golden chance of ruling country's capital. Now he can only dream / agitate / gherao that's it.

#NaxalAAP trending,, grandson of Mahatma said he didn't saw AAP workers hurling stone. But, photographs tell other story.

Shazia/Ashutosh blamed BJP for violence but when Arnab questioned AAP leader Kamal Mitra Chenoy over stone hurling footage, Chenoy condemned it.

Unfortunately, many of our Congress friends are commenting nonsense like AK was arrested out of their hatred towards NaMo. Day by day, intellectuality of Congress supporters falling down.

    Dear Krishnaraj Salian,

Your degree of modi Support is evident from your elaborated comment. It is justified also because of 2004 riot which matches your communal ideology.

The party which you blindly support also supported by a right wing terrorist organisation.

But regarding the subject incident god only know the real fact.

Your analysis is fully biased and at this moment it should be rejected by disagree button.

My comment must be irritating to you.Because you don't support any party na.

Give me any one example where the Muslim league or MIM member is caught for terrorism act. Don't give Akbar owaisi example (he was booked against provocative speech). he is much better than your kalladka Bhatt ,Varun gandhi,Lagadia etc.

But just refer some old news you can find your right wing organization members' connections with some terrorists.

I suggest, before reading my comments remove your communal spects.

Its like group of hyenas entering the lion's den and challenging it. If you see NGC , hyenas despite small in size, but are wise and united sometimes can overpower lion. Its a wise move by AAP and will give them free publicity . If the police keep kejrival and co , behind bars for a week at least , the AAP should get at least some seats in Gujarat. But Kejrival has valor to face Modi head on ? , that's the big question .
