More qualified for PM post than those 'roaming' around: Nitish

Bettiah, Mar 6 (PTI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today made his Prime Ministerial ambitions known, saying he is more qualified and experienced than those "roaming around" for the top job.

"I am more qualified than those roaming around for the post of Prime Ministership," Kumar said in his 'sankalp yatra' held here to demand special category status for Bihar.

Without naming either the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi or Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, he said "While one does not have the experience of

Parliament another has no experience of running a state... I have both experiences... Am I less qualified than them?"

Asked categorically if he was a Prime Ministerial candidate, Kumar said his party JD(U) was small and modest and did not make tall claims, but believed in working sincerely for the people.

Told that senior leaders like Mulayam Singh Yadav and Jayalithaa, whose parties SP and AIADMK were part of the Third Front, had hinted of being in the race for the PM's post, he shot back "What's wrong in this? Every party has its strategy to maximise support among people."

Kumar also claimed that all 'sponsored' poll surveys would be proved wrong ultimately and neither BJP nor Congress would come to power.

"In fact the new grouping which you call Third Front will be the First Front," he said.

"The non-Congress and non-BJP parties will have the largest numbers after the polls," he said, referring to the Federal Front of 11 non-Congress and non-BJP parties for which he has been a prime mover.

He categorically ruled out siding either with Congress or BJP after the polls.

In an apparent dig at his Gujarat counterpart, he said, "2002 riots had led to the demise of NDA in 2004 general elections."

Kumar whose hostility towards the BJP PM pick is no secret broke away from NDA after 17 years over elevation of Narendra Modi.

Asked if there was any effort at tie up between JD(U) and Congress till it allied with RJD, he answered in the negative.

"Actually it was tactics of Congress to create pressure on Lalu Prasad and they successfully won one additional seat from RJD while stitching up an alliance," Kumar said.

On LJP President Ramvilas Paswan joining hands with NDA, he reiterated that there could be no other leader who could take such a sharp turn.

On his rival Lalu Prasad accusing him of breaking up his RJD, he said, "Actually it's breaking up itself and there is no need to break it."

He said, "It is the habit of Prasad of cursing me for everything that goes wrong either for him personally or his party. These are important pages of his invisible autobiography."

I agree with you, if we give more 5 years to Congress (Feku) this will become Afghanistan, in recent time few gutless terrorists bombed us, shoot people (26/11), behead our soldier, not to forget the rape which is becoming an everyday story and our spineless government is busy in scams. My vote to BJP this time not Congress isn't going to make that mistake again.

There is credence in what Nitish Kumar says.
If the third front can cobble together many parties to form Govt, Nitish Kumar, who is qualified, has worked as an Union Cabinet Minister and as Chief Minister has a fair chance of becoming Prime Minister.

Voters are watching it clearly..Ultimately,voters will decide who's who.THIRD FRONT or others MPs are vital in deciding PM.Anyhow MODI WILL disappear from the politics after the general election. AAAAAAP and third front will make hump for the BJP, which ultimately make BJP deep disappointed/hurt political party in the 2014 election

Dear frustrated BJP favored commentators, how your party had tie up with Nithish Kumar for 17 years, if he is not capable and not a good personality? After breaking the alliance with BJP he is not capable? Nitish has taken a wise decision on the right time. Real Indian does not want any tie up with Modi because he is untouchable for all except Sangha Parivaar.

Before reading my comments readers, please remove your communal spects.

    Comment:

Nitish is more qualified and deserved candidate than Modi.
    1. He is a qualified engineer.
2.He developed a backward state which is 1000 times tougher than developing a developed state like Gujarat.
3.He is not communal or he has not staged any communal violence in Bihar.

Hence Nitish is 10000 times better candidate for PM than Modi.

Educational qualification is not a scale to measure one's capability...otherwise IITian Kujliwal would have been elected directly as PM...Whatever development Bihar has gained is not ONLY because of him, but firstly he should be thankful to Sri George Fernandes, who brought him forward (and don't forget in return what Nitish has given to Fernandes) he won last two elections ONLY as a part of NDA not as an individual party also ruled ONLY with the help of NDA not because he is JD(U). He is Communal as he do caste base politics while adopting terrorists & suspected terrorists as their own sons/daughters! He never massacred anybody but supports the one who terrorizes the nation...! Its all just you guys raised the question...otherwise..forget about his DREAM about PM...Fisrt let him think about his party's future...where he stands...!

But you have disqualified due to political ethics, secularism! Kejriwal is IITian and more qualified...but what he did?! Rahul...as per his own 'statement' he is European university student and degree holder...what he did? On other hand Modi...mare chaiwala (lol)...what he did...for Gujarat...!! Even one can argue there is no development...but a decent administration is certainly there...along with crime control and willingness to take all along!
