Mangalore, Jun 1: Children of Dakshina Kannada district will no more toil as the district will be declared free of child labour by June 30, 2007.
A press release issued by the district child labour project officer Chandravati stated that a meeting was held with the headquarters assistant to deputy commissioner A G Bhat to discuss on the issue and adequate arrangements have been done in this regard.
Chandravati said that several measures have been taken to curb the child labour menace in the district.
Supervisors from here and Puttur were given training on March 8 and April 20 for effective implementation of the project.
