Five countries to hold informal talks on Ukraine


Rome, March 6 (IANS): Top diplomats of the US, Italy, France, Germany and Britain will hold informal talks on Ukraine in Rome Thursday.

According to the Italian foreign ministry, US Secretary of State John Kerry, foreign ministers of Italy, France and Germany and deputy foreign minister of Britain will be attending the informal talks, Xinhua reported.

The talks will be on the sidelines of the international conference on Libya which is also being held in Rome.

The international conference will be attended by about 40 delegations, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, China's Middle East Special Envoy Wu Sike and others.

After the meeting, foreign ministers of Italy and Libya and UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya Tarek Mitri will hold a joint press conference.
