Moodbidri, Jun 2: Vitthal Shetty (51), a resident of Kokrady in Beltangady taluk was killed when a private bus collided with his bike in front of the Beluvai Church near here on Thursday June 1. Pillion rider Lokayya Poojary too has sustained injuries in the accident. He is now admitted to Alva's Hospital here.
Vitthal Shetty had gone for a wedding ceremony at Udupi along with his friend Lokayya Poojary on Wednesday. After the wedding they were on their way to attend a house warming ceremony at Beluvai when a private bus coming from Mangalore hit their bike while on a bid to overtake another vehicle.
As a result Vitthal died on the spot after sustaining serious injuries in his head. He was an agriculturist by profession. He is survived by wife and two children. Injured Lokayya Poojary is a mechanic by profession.
Moodbidri police have registered a case in this regard.
