Afghan vice president dead


Kabul, March 9 (IANS): Afghanistan Vice President Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim died Sunday following cardiac arrest, media reported.

Fahim died following a heart attack in his Kabul home, where dozens of his relatives rushed to when they heard the news, Xinhua reported citing Tolo news.

The Afghanistan government has announced a three-day national mourning during which the national flag will be flown at half-mast, Afghan presidential spokesman Aimal Faizi said on his Twitter page.
