Mangalore, Jun 2: A young Muslim woman who had gone missing some eight months ago has now been traced in Goa married to a Hindu boy and five-month-old child. The Mulki police after tracing them in Vasco in Goa have brought them to Lingapayya Kadu near Mulki here.
Sharifa, daughter of Razak Saheb of Lingapayya Kadu near Mulki had gone missing in last October from her house. After the family members failed her to locate her anywhere, the latter had finally lodged a complaint with the Mulki police in this regard.
It was later known that her neighbour Raju too had gone missing in the same time. So it was suspected that Sharifa had eloped with Raju with whom she was in love for some time. She was on her family way when they had eloped.
The Mulki police suddenly received a call some days ago informing that the missing duo was at Vasco in Goa. So the police went there and arrested both and brought them to Mulki. The couple has a 5-month-old child Aishwarya now.
Both Sharifa and Raju hail from Sindhagi taluk in Bijapur district. But some years ago their families had migrated to Dakshina Kannada district and were living in Lingapayya Kadu. Here both Sharifa and Raju were neighbours.
