Dubai, Jun 2: The first day of June 2006 was a day of jubilation for the parishners of Belman residing in the UAE. Together they joined to celebrate their third anniversary at Al Mas Residence Dubai.


This was the largest gathering of the Belmanites compared to any previous events conducted by them.

Well-known businessman from Abu Dhabi Arthur D`Souza is the new president of the association. He welcomed the gathering and thanked the members and their families for their continuous support to the association.


The event was spiced by the eye-catching dance performance by the ladies wing of the association as they received a huge applause for their performance. Asha Fernandes the entertainment secretary of the association led the dance troupe. Children too were not behind in the process of entertainment as they too put up several dances.


Andrea D'Souza’s dance stole the show with her fabulous performance.

The special feature of the day was the Talent Show conducted by Walter D’Souza, which gave an opportunity to all to participate – the young and the old alike.


Konkani poet Melwyn Rodrigues, Daijiworld’s recipe editor Avreyl Rodrigues, Raymond D`Mello and Freeda D`Souza parishioners of Belman were in the jury to judge the performances.

Deepak Machado compered the programme, while Avinash Saldanha, Ivan D`Souza, Lavia Saldanha supported in conducting various games and spot prizes at the venue. Puis D`Cruz proposed vote of thanks.


The memorable event ended with a dinner and the traditional housie- housie game.
