SP releases digital book for Lok Sabha polls

Lucknow, March 11 (IANS): The Samajwadi party will distribute digital books listing the achievements of the ruling party to all its Lok Sabha candidates in Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said the digital book -- with a 9.5 by 5.5 cm screen -- will "be SP's new and most potent tool in its election campaign" and will be distributed in all the 80 constituencies in the state.

The book begins with the SP anthem of 'Man se hain Mulayam, par irade hain loha' (we are kind-hearted, but are iron-willed) and flips through various schemes that have been launched by the Akhilesh Yadav government.

These schemes include the 'Kanya Vidyadhan', 'Hamari Beti' and so on for girls' welfare.

The party has also released many catch lines as slogans for the elections. One of these says 'aapke khate mein jama hongi khushiyan' (you will have lots of happiness).

The main theme of the election campaign of the party will remain Mulayam Singh Yadav, but the party has also decided to peg the campaign around the two-year tenure of Akhilesh Yadav.

While the state government is facing a strong incumbency, the party said it will bag the maximum seats in the Lok Sabha polls. It holds 22 seats in the outgoing parliament.
