Mangalore, Jun 3: State Minorities Development Corporation will extend financial assistance to religious minorities for education and self-employment under various schemes. Persons hailing from Muslim, Christian, Jain, Anglo-Indian, Sikh, Parsi and Buddhist communities are eligible to avail benefits under these schemes.

Swavalambana

Financial assistance upto Rs one lakh is offered for minority unemployed youths to undertake self-employment ventures. Annual family income of the applicant should be within Rs 22,000. Photostat copies of caste and income certificates, ration card, two pass port size photo and quotation of the plan should be furnished along with the filled-in application.

Ganga-Kalyana

The scheme extends financial assistance to small and marginal farmers hailing from religious minority communities to irrigate their land.

Farmers who are permanent residents of the State with two to five acres of holdings are eligible to apply.

Annual family income of the applicant should be within Rs 22,000.

Photostat copies of caste and income certificates, RTC of three years, draft, 13 years encumbrance certificate and other documents related to land should be furnished along with the filled-in application.

Arivu

Students hailing from religious minority communities pursuing MBBS, Engineering, BDS, MCA, MA, MSc, TCH, diploma and other professional courses can avail financial assistance under the scheme.

A sum of Rs 25,000 is the ceiling for the loans offered and will vary depending on the course and the financial needs of the students. Students with annual family income less than Rs 22,000 can apply along with photostat copies of caste and income certificates, marks cards of CET entrance test, study certificate attested from the Principal of the institution and SSLC and PU marks cards.

Women

Priority will be accorded to women in all the schemes. Applications are available with District Manager, State Minorities and Devaraj Urs Backward Class Development Corporation, No 204, Sequeira building, Near Infosys Building, Kottara, Mangalore. June 9 is the last date to submit applications.
