Byndoor, Jun 3 (Saturday, 3-15 pm): In a filmi-style robbery case, gold ornaments of Rs 165,000 value were looted from a house at Byndoor by a masked gang in the early hours of Saturday.
Around 3-45 am on Saturday, a group of masked men got into the house of Mohammed Ghouse in Halageri in Byndoor and threatened the inmates at knifepoint. Then they bound all of them to a pillar and decamped with gold worth Rs 1.65 lac from the house.
The robbers reportedly spoke local languages. Complicity of some local persons is not ruled out by the police. This is confirmed also by the fact that the sniffer dogs went around the vicinity for quite some time. Senior police officials and fingerprint experts have visited the spot.
Byndoor SI C D Nagaraj is said to have taken a few locals into custody on suspicion for interrogation.
